Business overview

Hinduja Leyland Finance is the NBFC arm of the Hinduja Group, set up as a joint venture with Ashok Leyland, which as commercial vehicle makers go is about as big as India gets. It lends to individuals, small businesses and corporates. The book is mostly vehicles. Commercial and passenger vehicle finance, construction equipment and asset financing, then personal loans, business loans and a few other retail products layered on. Reach across the country is fairly wide with the weight sitting in transportation, logistics and infrastructure, sectors where a standard loan product usually doesnt fit and things end up tailored. Digital platforms have taken over more of the process over time, mostly to get approvals moving faster. Truck buyers and small fleet operators are not customers a large bank chases very hard, and that gap is roughly where HLFL works.

Every ratio here is worked out from the reported figures in the Financials tab, and valuation multiples from the indicative price in the header. Nothing is a stored value. A ratio the filings cannot support (a line not reported, or a zero or negative base) is left out or shown as —, never as a misleading number. Balance-sheet ratios use year-end figures.
