Business overview
Custody is the least glamorous corner of financial services and Orbis has stayed parked in it on purpose. The firm started out as a custodian in 2009 and has kept that as the core ever since. The client list is a mix. Foreign and domestic institutional investors, corporates, HNIs, brokers, portfolio managers, wealth managers, hedge funds and private equity funds. The work is holding securities safely and keeping everything lined up with whatever the regulator has changed this quarter. The platform is an integrated ERP based system, built to scale and to bend to what a particular client wants. Reporting is the piece Orbis gets singled out for, its heavily customised and clients seem to actually use it rather than ignore it. Reliable and unexciting is a fine thing to be when you are holding somebody elses assets.

Revenue, EBITDA and PAT
₹ crore. A year with no reported figure is left out rather than drawn as zero.
- Revenue
- EBITDA
- PAT
Every ratio here is worked out from the reported figures in the Financials tab, and valuation multiples from the indicative price in the header. Nothing is a stored value. A ratio the filings cannot support (a line not reported, or a zero or negative base) is left out or shown as —, never as a misleading number. Balance-sheet ratios use year-end figures.
